Foundation
In 1983, when Antonis Houtos founded the homonymous catering company, driven by his passion for the promotion of Greek cuisine and the provision of high quality catering services according to international standards, no one imagined its impressive development over the years.
In its long journey in food industry, Houtos Catering, in addition to organizing events and receptions of all types, is active in industrial catering, mass catering of hospitals and universities while it has developed the operation of canteens and restaurants throughout the country.
It has state-of-the-art food preparation laboratories in Thessaloniki, Volos and Komotini and employs more than 200 specialized and experienced employees..
The crown of all, however, remains the part of social, professional events and receptions with five multipurpose venues in Thessaloniki, and one each in Komotini and Volos. The company’s mobile feeding units have the ability to cover events of any size throughout Greece.
The executive chefs of the group create exquisite menus with the best suggestions of the Greek traditional cuisine but also a touch of European haute cuisine, based on the pure and fresh ingredients of the Mediterranean. The protagonists are the virgin olive oil, the spices of the Greek land, the fresh meats from local farms, the delicious PDO cheeses and the freshly cut vegetables, cooked in new versions of traditional recipes, pieces of such a lively gastronomic culture of our country.
At HOUTOS CATERING, each event is our personal affair whose sole purpose is the absolute satisfaction of the guests and the organizers, fully meeting their expectations. The crown of all, however, remains the part of social, professional events and receptions with five multipurpose venues in Thessaloniki, one in Komotini and one in Volos as well as mobile catering units with the possibility of covering events throughout Greece, by agreement.
The constant search for new materials and production methods led to the complete modernization of the company with facilities and means of production capable of feeding thousands of people daily. The company has a fleet of vehicles capable of immediately serving all its needs. The state-of-the-art food production laboratory of HOUTOS CATERING is housed in the company’s facilities in the area of Pefki, Thessaloniki. The laboratory has four separate production departments: hot dishes, cold dishes, patisserie & packaged products – snacks.
Certifications
It has all the licenses provided by law, it’s certified according to the international standards ISO22000:2005(HACCP), ISO9001:2008, with VETERINARY APPROVAL CODE (IMP 134) while it has modern equipment with the ability to produce up to five thousand units per shift.
